Sclerotherapy for Varicose Veins

Medical Sclerotherapy is usually performed in conjunction with endovascular laser treatment of varicose veins. This type of sclerotherapy is used to treat deeper veins that are inaccessible by other forms of treatment and utilizes ultrasound imaging to ensure precise guidance. These veins are treated by injecting a sclerosing agent directly into the damaged veins, causing the collapse of the veins, which are subsequently reabsorbed by the body.  After damaged veins have been collapsed, blood flow is redirected to healthy veins in the leg which helps reinstate a normal blood flow and improve circulation.  It provides effective results that assist in the relief of the painful symptoms of varicose veins.
